When I first came up with the idea for this blog, I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to photograph a home so amazing and so unique!
Two home-loving ladies, Anita from Fun and VJ’s and Nat from Queensland Film Locations, had both told me about this home and it sounded like the things dreams are made of. I can assure you.., it is.
Let’s go inside, shall we?!?
Eisenmenger House – mid-century home in Carina
The entry of the home leads you straight into the open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area which is surrounded by glass on two sides and leads onto a deck and pool area. Immediately, you feel how light, bright and open the home is and the breeze from the east flows in freely. It is quite a breathtaking sight to take in all at once!

Chris and Susan undertook an incredibly detailed restoration process over the past 11 years (you can read a bit about it here) and the proof is really evident in the way the home appears so sympathetically restored to its former glory and feels younger than it’s years.
Their love for mid-century design and style extends to all corners of the home. Precious items are carefully selected, collected and curated to find a place in their home. The home is adaptable to suit all size parties and Susan has a collection of vintage cook books and serving ware to cater for any occasion.

Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms and bathroom and it’s amazing to see and feel the evidence of great architecture, in these smaller spaces. Each room is bright, full of air and light, which reinforces Chris’ notion that it feels like living in a holiday home!

The mid-century love continues to the deck and pool area which is simply gorgeous! It was carefully restored and now shines like a set from a movie.
