Late last year, I took off to the USA for a holiday.  I updated a few photos on Facebook and Instagram along the way, but have keep the best photos for here!

Walk Among The Homes – San Francisco house stalking

The travel plans were made in a bit of a hurry and while I had hoped to be able to give a proper inside look at a San Francisco home for you, I didn’t have much time for convincing people that I am not a crazy (house) stalker.

There is always next time.

Instead of my usual focus inside homes, I was content to do my stalking from street level and we spent a few days wandering around on foot and driving around, oohing and aahhing constantly at the multitude of homes and architectural styles that San Francisco has to offer.

I’m sure like me, most of you have seen images of the quintessential San Francisco homes, but to see them up close, the design, the colours and the intricate details is just captivating.

They are all so unique, refreshing and inspiring.

I always look at building sites, but this one had me completely enthralled.  The markings on the timber is really interesting and I would love to know what becomes of this house.  I’ll have to check back on Google Maps to keep an eye on it!

Of course no house stalking in San Francisco could be complete without a visit to the Painted Ladies at Alamo Square.

The image of these houses is etched in my memory, thanks to the numerous films and television shows where they have been featured.  Nothing compares to seeing them in the flesh, sitting for a while and taking in the amazing vista of the houses and the city behind them.

If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the gorgeous wood shingle houses that were dotted around this city.  This one was in the street where we stayed in Noe Valley and I just loved seeing it every morning and night.
