I’m really excited to share this great home with you today for quite a few reasons!
One – it’s a gorgeous home, with a simple, yet stunning Art Deco façade;
Two – it’s full to the brim with an eclectic array of antiques and retro pieces;
Four – it’s a rented home and a perfect way to show that you can inject oodles of style and love into a rental property.
Art Deco home in Coorparoo – an artistic abode
This home sits on a pretty street in Coorparoo and like most homes from the Art Deco era, it has an elegant design and rendered façade. It is a large home, sitting high on the block and has a gorgeous semi-circular patio with ornate grills, showing a real nod to it’s era.
The home is full of amazing furniture, art work and knick-knacks, a lot of which were collected by Tess, the lady of the house, who once had a store at the Woolloongabba Antiques Centre.
For the home history buffs, it appears that most of the paint colours are still original pastel tones and their are also some textured walls, seen in the photo above and paint finishes, like the speckle seen in the next photo.
Everywhere you look in this home, there is some gorgeous item taking your eye, There are curios in carefully placed groups and vignettes dotted around the place. All of them with a story to tell or a happy memory attached to them.
The home is so full of beauty, laughter and fun and with 3 boisterous boys running around playing tricks on each other, their personalities suit the home so well. It has all the feeling and looks like a lively space!
The kitchen and bathroom in this home are still in original condition . They completely add to the charm of this home – even though it has charm by the bucket load!! It’s great to see these features in such immaculate condition, I love the terrazzo floors and the kitchen bench tops.
I hope you have loved this week’s home – so much punch and personality! I love the creative and artistic space Tess has made for her family, it’s a gorgeous Brisbane home.
Thanks for having me!
